What is that?

The other day I was walking along somewhere and one thing I noticed was this flower that was trying to grow amongst some stuff. This flower stood tall although it appeared to be weathering the storm. The bud’s color was a deep rich red and everything around it was brown and flat.

In the past I would take walks on the trail to clear my thoughts and really listen to what God was trying to tell me. Often, I would see pretty flowers growing amongst weeds and that would amaze me. If you look at the flower above and really analyze it, you will notice the battered leaves. But if you look a little closer you will see what is holding this flower up. The branches are intertwined and leading to the stem. In other words, the flower was being held up by its support system.

Of course, I would somehow relate this to my life. Although I have gone through some rough patches, been knocked down a few times but just like this flower I weather the storm. However, my journey in life has always included people who were my branches, stems and roots.

While we may think that we can stand alone and do everything on our own. Just as this flower we need those support systems in our lives to help hold us together.

This is me and nothing is normal!
